Safeway salads recalled

Safeway and Buy-Low Foods are recalling caesar salad and chicken caesar salad products due to possible listeria contamination.

The salads are sold in Buy-Low Foods, Nesters Market, Safeway and St. Martin’s Family Foods stores across the Prairies and B.C. and in Ontario.

The affected salads are sold under the names Signature Cafe, Fresh ‘N Delicious and Nester’s own in various package sizes.

The Signature Cafe chicken salad caesar has a best-before date of March 1 while the other products have best-before dates up to and including Feb. 28.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says the recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.

There have been no reported illnesses linked to eating these products.
