About Lauryn

Lauryn was born and raised in small-town Alberta and moved to Calgary in 2017 to attend Mount Royal University's Journalism program. She spent six months interning at the Airdrie City View and Rocky View weekly, covering everything from community events, to sports, and municipal politics. In 2021, following graduation, she joined the team at the Okotoks Western Wheel as a municipal beat reporter. In the spring of 2023, Lauryn joined the team at CityNews. She has had the pleasure of covering two provincial elections, two federal elections, and a municipal election. Lauryn loves politics and was also able to cover the resignation of former Premier Jason Kenney and the 2023 United Conservative Party leadership race.
